Independent Commission Against Corruption

The Commission is independent in its operations, investigation and is not subject to the direction of politicians, bureaucrats or any political party. It is only responsible to the NSW Parliament through a Parliamentary Committee.

What does the Commission do?

The main objectives of the Commission are to:

• Investigate, expose and prevent corruption which involves or affects public authorities or public officials, and

• Educate public authorities, public officials and the public about corruption and its negative effects on public administration and on the community.

The commission also has broad powers of investigation against any allegation or circumstance which in the commission's opinion imply that corrupt conduct has occurred.
